Academy Sports + Outdoors, one of the nation’s largest sporting goods and outdoor stores, engaged with Creatable to help them maintain their place as a national leader in the hunting, fishing, and camping space by providing the same great in-store expertise that their customers have come to love online.

The Challenge

After years of successful growth, fueled by an amazing in-store experience and top-notch expertise in the hunt, fish, camp space, Academy Sports + Outdoors needed to translate that experience online to sustain that growth and continue to grow their customer base.

The Objectives

Academy Sports + Outdoors sought out a platform that would allow them to strategically and seamlessly illuminate their nascent e-commerce channel with immersive video that provided their customers with all of the same information that they could get by talking with a salesperson in-store.

The Solution

Stream, by Creatable, was able to be easily integrated with Academuy’s ecommerce site CMS, enabling optimized video experiences across all layers of their ecommerce funnel. Product specific videos were seamlessly integrated on PDPs, while buying guides and blogs were now enhanced by high level expert videos on a wide range of subjects.

The Results

Academy Sports + Outdoors was able to continue and even accelerate their growth through the addition of their ecommerce channel, optimized with expert video by Creatable, growing to a new high of $6.4B in sales in fiscal 2022.
